Toy 1

Its coming up to the time when I put together my graduating portfolio. After looking at all the pieces I have decided that I would like to have at least one 3D object in there among the regular 2D stuff. I have always enjoyed working in 3D but rarely get the chance. so A while  back me and ma buddy Christer decided that we would start working on some toys. I am a huge sucker for cool toys. And im not going to pass up the opportunity to make my own.
Coming up with a concept was pretty easy, A quick flip through the sketch book revealed a pretty decent starting point. Here are the roughs of my little Fawn man.

this is thefirst drawing of the character that i am going to sculpt. he is not wuite a goat fawn but more like a deer person. the only thing I gave him was a trol faced bag. :) kinda gross but also kinda kewl.
Those are some face and body roughs. just to really flesh out the design before i invest in the clay and the wire armature. And then working out what the toy parts will actualy function as. joints and that sort of thing.
Now for the armature.
this is with the first layer of clay.
this is were i stopped last night. Feeling pretty good about stage 1

STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES.
